Palin's Attorney Threatening Lawsuits
from Little Green Footballs
The Washington Post has an open letter from Sarah Palin’s attorney (PDF), threatening to sue Alaskan blogger Shannyn Moore and several media sources:
To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as “fact” that Governor Palin resigned because she is “under federal investigation” for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law. The Alaska Constitution protects the right of free speech, while simultaneously holding those “responsible for the abuse of that right.” Alaska Constitution Art. I, Sec. 5. These falsehoods abuse the right to free speech; continuing to publish these falsehoods of criminal activity is reckless, done without any regard for the truth, and is actionable.

She also agreed that Palin was "wacky and nutty" and only got ahead because of her looks. And, to top it off, Trotta said Maureen Dowd's latest disgusting hit piece on Palin was well written, smart and funny.Liz Trotta, please go away:
Here's some information on Palin's accomplishments that the Trotta wants to ignore.

Target Alaska: Gov. Palin Pushes SDI
From Investors.com
Security: As Defense Secretary Gates tours our missile defense site at Fort Greely, Alaska, Gov. Sarah Palin calls for restoration of the missile defense cuts. Meanwhile, North Korea points another missile at the U.S.
Robert Gates' visit to our missile defense facility at Fort Greely on Monday was a pointed reminder to the North Koreans that while we have been talking softly, we still have a few big sticks in the ground ready to turn the North Korean missile program into so much scrap metal.
That is somewhat reassuring as Pyongyang moves another ICBM to the launchpad, this time at a new facility on its west coast. South Korea's Yonhap news agency said the missile had been sent by train to the newly completed missile facility of Dongchang-ni, about 40 miles from the Chinese border.
The weapon being prepared for launch is believed to be an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of up to 4,000 miles, the JoongAng Ilbo newspaper reported, citing an unnamed South Korean official. That would put Alaska within striking range.
Gates spoke a little less softly in Singapore on Saturday, with encouraging words regarding any attempt by Pyongyang to export its technology of mass destruction.
"The transfer of nuclear weapons or material by North Korea to state or non-state entities would be considered a grave threat to the United States and its allies," he said at the annual security conference. "And we would hold North Korea fully accountable for the consequences of such action."
We hope so, for Pyongyang has already been there, done that. In 2007, Israel took out a North Korean-built, Iranian-financed nuclear plant at Damascus' al-Kibar complex in eastern Syria.
The Washington Post noted that the timing of the raid was related to the arrival three days earlier of a ship carrying North Korean materials labeled as cement but suspected of concealing nuclear equipment.
In 2002, the U.S. tracked the So Sang, a vessel of unknown registry. Spanish commandos, operating in conjunction with American authorities, intercepted and boarded the vessel. It was found to be carrying 15 Scud-B missiles hidden under sacks of concrete.
Gates believes the 30 interceptors developed, tested and deployed by his former boss, President George W. Bush, at Fort Greely and at Vandenberg AFB in California are adequate for the threat. While Gates' words are tough and the visual aids stunning, Gov. Palin, who hosted Gates' visit and whose state is on the wrong end of a Taepodong trajectory, thinks more is needed — such as the other 14 ground-based interceptors that were planned for but cut.

Pipeline, Not Pipe Dream: Credit Palin
From Investors.com
Energy: Exxon Mobil's surprise decision to join Trans-Canada on a vast Alaska gas pipeline project is a big step toward making the U.S. self-sufficient in domestic energy. By defying naysayers, Sarah Palin is now vindicated.
It must be sweet vindication for Alaska's governor. Against critics who said her 1,712-mile natural gas pipeline project would never get off the ground, who should the project bag but the "big gorilla" of American energy — Exxon Mobil.
In a major surprise, Exxon announced Thursday that it had forged a partnership with TransCanada, the Canadian pipeline company that holds the state license for Palin's $126 billion Alaska Gasoline Inducement Act project.
It's a big vote of confidence in Palin's top project from a by-the-books company known for its rigid investment standards.
"We evaluated all the options and it came down to our belief that this approach with TransCanada and Exxon Mobil was going to be the most successful project," said Marty Massey, U.S. joint interest manager of Exxon Mobil Production Co. He said Exxon might look at expanding its participation.
Rival oil firms had whispered to IBD that it would never happen. "It's gonna happen and we're very excited about this development," Palin told "Good Morning America" on Friday.
Doubters of Palin's pipeline plan were numerous.
Some said the pipeline would be too big to work, and that a rival BP/ConocoPhillips project, called Denali, would doom Palin's plan because Alaska didn't have enough natural gas for both.
Exxon's tilt toward TransCanada suggests the oil giant believes that's not true. Exxon is America's largest company, with extraction rights to a third of all Alaska's gas reserves. It can use them to fill either pipeline. "We will make a decision based on commercial reality," Massey said. "But ... why would we put our money and not our gas in the pipeline?"
Obama administration officials who had nothing to do with this, like Energy Secretary Ken Salazar, rushed to claim credit too. What better vote of confidence could there be?
Other doubters had suggested the pipeline could never happen because of a global gas glut, making the pipeline uneconomical. But with the project slated for completion in 2018, and the need for natural gas expected to rise between 20% and 40% by 2030, it's precisely now that such a project should be built.
"I think it's very shortsighted" to assume that"market conditions are going to stay as they are today," Palin told CNN. In an interview with IBD last July when gasoline hit $4 at the pump, she noted that if drilling had started in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge just five years ago, when policymakers were dismissing the idea of $100-a-barrel oil, "we wouldn't be in our predicament today."

Too Pretty? Oh C’mon!
From ConservativeAmericanBy Peter Andrew
One of the most annoying things about liberals is their hypocrisy. It drives me crazy how they can consistently say one thing, then do another or have one opinion on an issue when a democrat is involved and another when a republican is involved. This story is a perfect example of the absolute rubbish the left spews unanswered by the power of the press.
Now they say Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was too pretty!!
It was okay for them to talk about what a hunk Obama was, with his abs and swimsuit in Hawaii. Being good looking helped him. It was a good thing (see: With Obama, Sexism is Okay) . He was smart AND good looking! Amazing.

Better vote for him with that kind of combination, right? That’s the story we were sold.
And what about the younger and more fit Billy Bob Clinton? Remember all the stories about how women thought he was so good looking? We were told he had strong support from women voters because he was handsome. That was okay then.
Whatever happened to what is good for the goose is good for the gander?

Even the candidacy of Dick Gephart of Missouri was given more credence because they said he looked like Robert Redford. I seem to remember people talking about how handsome JFK was too. So, for guys it is okay to be good looking and talk about it.
However, for Sarah Palin, you cannot talk about her beauty (see: Palin is Hot, Clinton is Not.)
Now, Jim Galloway at the Atlanta Journal reports on a recent study:
“…published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology…with Jamie Goldenberg, an associate professor over at USF who co-authored the article with Nathan Heflick. The two researchers had theorized a correlation between looks and competence. “We were shocked that we got any movement on the voting,” Goldenberg said Thursday. “It didn’t affect Democrats. They were all going to vote for Obama no matter what.”
Stop the tape! Stop the tape. Wait just a minute! So, did either Heflick or Goldenberg bother to stop and think (just for a tiny moment) that the Democrats ONLY voted for Obama because of his looks? This guy clearly won ONLY because of his partially-black LOOKS!! These bafoon jealous-women researches don’t point that out though! Democrats are “ABOVE” that!! Give me a freakin’ break. These two liberal nut jobs say a person’s appearance ONLY effected republicans and independents. Gag. Okay, roll the tape…
“It was only Republicans and independents who were moved.” Basically, the students were asked to write about each woman — whether about her accomplishments as a person, or about her looks. “What we found is that in both cases, whether they wrote about Palin or Angelina Jolie,…”
Stop the tape! Stop the darn tape! Angelina Jolie? Brangelina? Uhm, excuse me, but did she or it run for anything? Is she a politician now? They lump her lumps in with Sarah Palin?! These people are pathetic. Roll the tape, let’s get this over with.
“…when they wrote about her appearance rather than the person, they evaluated her to be less competent, less fully human. And in the case of the Palin prime, they were less likely to vote for the McCain-Palin ticket,” Goldenberg said.”
Less than fully human?? So these idiot college types think Sarah Palin is “less fully human?!!” So, is Sarah Palin an alien? Is she from some pretty planet where all the pretty people come from? What kind of absolute nonsense is this, that it gets national media coverage? So, now Obama 2012 wants you to think Palin is “less than fully human.”
ConservativeAmerican.org believes Sarah Palin is, in fact, pretty. But too pretty? Oh C’mon!
